Oh the FTC... is there anything you won't annoyingly stick your nose into to stifle individuality and help big business?
Apparently, according to this Kotaku report, that the FTC wants disclaimer's on blogs that the blogger in question may have received a game or console for free and may have been "sponsored" for their review. Of course, they couldn't care less about "journalism" sites that almost always get free consoles, games, etc. to conduct their reviews. Same goes for movie, television, food, etc. critics for newspapers. I find this particularly ironic since it was Gamespot (a major gaming news site) that brought up this issue in the first place a few years ago. (FYI, they gave a game *I forget which* a higher review score because that game was getting ad space. They tried to fire a guy who gave it a bad review as such).

Lol, love the FTC and their double standards.

The FTC is a federal agency. President's got control over whom to hire and fire in those agencies. Best case scenario, he's not paying close enough attention to what people in that agency are doing. Worst-case, he's actively supporting what's going on. And considering that the entire mainstream media is in his pocket with the exception of Faux News, well...to whose advantage would it be to impose restrictions on a relatively unpoliced medium like blogs where everyone is allowed to say what they think?

This administration derives a great deal of its power from most peoples' perceptions that Obama is some knight in shining armor who will save the US from 8 years of Bush and will have the government lift all personal responsibility from our shoulders. This perception is propagated by a great deal of the media; I can't remember the last time I've seen a political cartoon lampooning him, an editorial criticizing his policy, anything.

HTA!

Right now, I think CNN is the Micheal Jackson channel.
But yeah, Obama has all the other news stations.

But even though Fox hates him, their arguments make them seem like 5 year old children.

When Obama went to speak in Egypt, they showed a stat stating that like 50% of the people there didn't like Americans. So one of the anchors asked, "Why is he speaking to them if they don't like us?"

Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, it's because they're supporting him without him actually doing anything to actively get them to?  Papers run editorials that are critical and even negative about Obama too.  Maybe not in the major national papers, but go through local papers, the ones almost everyone reads.  His administration isn't trying to stop everyone of those.  I don't him attempting to control bloggers either.
