I just found out that after january I'm going to be living most of the rest of this year in Dubai due to my dad taking on a job there along with teaching online classes.

Dubai's a pretty cool place though. I mean it sucks to not be in a place you're familiar with, but I think in the long run you'll probably benefit from the experience.

I'm lucky the only time I ever moved, I went to the same school, and not only that, I now have 2 awesome friends and one meh friend that live around me.

All I can say is to look at the bright side, you're moving to a beautiful city. Sure, it sucks to be somewhere where you've never been for a while, but it's a great city.

Dubai is in the Arab Emirates. If he truly doesn't want to go - leave the country and his friends and life behind - his parents should understand and let him stay with a relative if it's available. It's not breaking up the family.

Based on the situation over there, I'm not sure that's a great idea. But meh. Dubai is too focused on becoming the next Las Vegas - not on actually creating infastructure.

Well, I'm still going, but the good news is that my personal time there got decreased by a lot...To about 3 weeks to a month. Going there to kinda help my dad settle in and get a break, and of course, when I get back, I only have to deal with one parent (Unless I decide to stay, which I doubt I will but whatever)

So win/win I suppose?
