QuoteAn American politician is in exceedingly hot water after remarking that "Anime is a prime example of why two nukes wasn't enough."

New Hampshire State Representative Nick Levasseur, a Democrat, posted a tasteless statement on his Facebook profile decrying the survival of Japanese race.

Naturally, his comments will not endear him to anime fans, but more pressingly for him he was immediately savaged by Republicans for making "hateful" remarks, and Japanese and Japanese Americans will also doubtless be joining the queue to lambaste him for insensitive if not racist remarks.

He has since apologized for the remarks.

He is apparently no stranger to glib remarks about killing people he doesn't like – in 2008 he was accused of listing one of his hobbies on his now defunct MySpace profile as:

"The hunting of neo-conservative Reaganites (a shooting sport brought to you by the republican party in more ways than one!)"

When confronted about the remark he threatened to report the complainant to authorities for harassment.

Fortunately, those worried about such a reprobate finding his way into the halls of power need not fret – his voting record shows he hardly ever bothers to vote in the very state legislature he was elected to.
This is hilarious.
I love it when politicians say things like this. :3
YEAH

Thank goodness you posted that for people "To lazy to read"; It's actually blocked in Dubai.

As for this topic just...Wow. Anime? And why? I mean how much harmful can that do when you compare it to what we've done to there country and people? Saying 2 wasn't enough. Wow. I'd like to know his so called "elaborate reasoning". :B

Also politicians. Oh how they never cease to entertain.

Well, that guy is still a vagina cleaning devicebag, while this guy is just racist.

Rayquarian

Am I the only one who interpreted that as "Anime freaks me out" and not as "Japanese people freak me out?"

BOREDFOREVER

The most suprising part of this (for me) is that it was a democrat from the North East.  That's like the heartland for the liberal elite.  How the intercourse  did this guy get into our party?  Hunting people?  Talking about the uses of atomic bombs?  That's the talk of most southern neo-conservatives.  And bashing foreign art?  He's a republican double agent.  No true elitist would do this.

Someone's getting kicked out from the politician party, it seems. :D :) :D

Wow, what a retard. I guess I somehow respect him for having the balls to say that, but it ends there. Doesn't he realize how many of our modern technologies came from Japan?

He's getting his ass kicked out of the Democrats, that's for sure.

Oh wow, how can someone hate anime/Japan so much? It's okay to just hate something, but to say that "two nukes wasn't enough"? I'm laughing here just out of sheer disbelief.

That's just crude and insensitive. Sometimes I wonder how politicians like that are elected.
