Dog Food

This isn't a thread to talk about your new puppy, this is a thread to talk about and remember your old pets. The ones that are no longer with us. Not necessarily dead, but aren't with you anymore.

I'll give my list in order...

Tuesday, the family cat. I was young (just starting to walk and talk) and didn't understand the difference between furry toy and live thing. So, naturally, I mad Tuesday off a lot and he scratched me quite a bit. But we were still good friends, as best as a toddler and a cat can be. He put up with a lot.

My two chickens. I was in kindergarten back then and got them off of my cousin (who has had so many pets I can't even name half of them. This includes two ducks, a "pregnant" lamb, a horse, about eight dogs, a cat, and the list goes on...). They were really cute. I cared for them until my dad sold them to a farmer because they were growing into real chickens. Back then, I thought they were going to have a nice farm life. Over time, I realized that we gave them away to grow old and then be slaughtered. I indirectly killed them. Had I been smarter, I could have saved them the cruelty of that kind of life.

My cricket. I don't think I had a name for him. I only had him for one day, but he was probably one of my favorite pets. I caught this cricket, put him in a bug jar, and brought him home. But I let him out when I got inside, and then I couldn't find him again. I looked all over for him and was afraid he would die from someone's feet. I didn't want to find him dead. But dinner was ready, and so I stopped my search. Here's the good part: When I was in the middle of eating, I noticed something on my shoulder. I looked over... and there he was! My cricket was on my shoulder, just chilling out and watching me eat. I was ecstatic, to say the least. But I realized how fragile he was, and so that night after dinner I let him go. I didn't want him to die by my hands, accidentally.

A spider. This thing is the reason why I am afraid of them now. Happened in kindergarten.

I had two birds, Rainbow and Lipstick. I was young and didn't take care of them. I accidentally injured Lipstick when I attempted to take him out his cage so he could play with me. And yet, Lipstick outlived Rainbow, who I had liked better because he didn't bite. I bawled when Rainbow died.

My guinea pig, Blackie. Only a little older this time around. Must have been first or second grade. I used to take him for walks outside, watch him play in his ball, and feed him. I think I gave him too many treats, and he eventually died.

Ginger the cat. As far as I know, Ginger is still alive. This was a few years back. She's this stray cat that used to come around my neighborhood. When I noticed her, I let her into my porch by keeping the door slightly open at all times, and left food out for her. She wouldn't come near me at first, but sneaked in for the food. Eventually, we developed a bond. I don't remember what happened, I think I went on vacation, and I was unable to give her food and shelter for a couple weeks. She stopped coming to my house after that. She must have felt so betrayed... Once in a while, she would come into our neighborhood again, but she'd always run away from the site of people - including me. I haven't seen her in about a year, though...

...That's all I can remember.

RIP past pets <3.
I get obsessively manic over things. It's a problem.

I had a dog when I was like 2 or 3 that we had to leave behind in Texas when we moved back here. And my cat died last May so almost a year ago now.

KIWI T_T

My awesome ferret friend I had for like 10 (maybe less) years.

She found her way outside one day though and froze to death. ;-;

MoS

From when I was born til about 5 we had a siamese cat named Boss, he was a pretty old cat then but he would just puke and cough up hairballs all day. In the morning he would sit on your pillow and lick your hair to wake you up, great cat. We moved across the country and we couldn't take him with us. He was originally my grandmas cat, she gave it to us, then we gave him to my uncle. He died a few years back from old age, 23 years old.

Thirdkoopa

I had a fish named blueberry for about two years; twas a great fish. He lived out in the sea for a while so we never truly knew his age.

3 of my friends smoke weed. Why? Well I asked one time, and this is what they said: "Because I can blow out smoke and it makes me feel like a intercourse ing dragon"

I used to have a German Shepherd named Cadet. We adopted her summer of 1998 and she passed away on October 24th, 2008 of total kidney failure. We now have a Catahoula/terrier named Fable have owned her since December 2008. Aside from dogs, I had two hamsters, a Syrian and Roborovski's dwarf hamster. Both died of old age. I have also owned numerous goldfish, but the one I remember the most was when I bought a new goldfish and it died at the checkout counter after it was paid for. I never got my money back!
Be yourself, everyone else is taken.
