I have an 8 GB flash drive I store all of my pornography on, inside a folder named "Escape to Witch Mountain (1975)" because I thought that would be the least suspicious thing to hide porn in.

Better hope no one ever wants to see that movie...

What can you possibly fit on 1 GB?

Quite a lot, really.

Image-wise, yes.  My lulz folder didn't take up as much room as other files I backed up onto the flash drive.  A desktop sized image is about 1 or 2MB.  You can fit a whole movie on there as well and have at least 200MB left over.  I think the Touhou lossless albums (in .tta format) are around 450MB each, zipped of course.  A lossy album is about 100MB.

I think 1GB = 1024MB, but I may be wrong.

I have two 1 GB flash drives. had them for months and have yet to use either of them. i just store my stuff in an email that i can then reach from any computer at any given moment.
