Looks like Gamestop realized that brick and mortar stores selling only games might not be around for much longer. I really don't like Gamestop, but more competition in the market is always good. Of course, knowing them, they'll find some way to make people mad anyway.

Based on the Gamestop brand controllers I've seen, I don't know if the build quality on one of their tablets would be too great. At least they can't open and reseal digital games before selling them as new.

Good job! I, Viewtifulboy, declare you the CHAMPION!

I'm the official winner of the Viewtiful Victory roleplay championship!

I've gone to Gamestop for the first time this year.  But I agree with them that hanging your hat on a single market is potentially dangerous.  Video gaming has already had one crash in the not-that-distant past.  Expanding to become a more broad market can help them escape if it were to ever happen again somehow.  The only real risk is that now they're entering a new realm where there are already some giants.  They are going to have to be aggressive in their venture.

The dude at the gamestop by me told me that "If Play and Trade gets any bigger, we may just buy them out and turn it into a strictly vintage store." Unrelated to the OP but still interesting.
