Guys, we're sick of locking threads for the same reason over and over again. After a few dozen redundant lock messages, we'd think that some of you would get the hint. Apparently that hasn't happened.

A few things to keep in mind.

1) NO LINK-ONLY THREADS!: This doesn't mean that its OK if you throw in a sentence describing how funny it is. Unless you can pose an intelligent question or create feasible discussion from a point in the video, don't post it. PM it to a couple of the people on your Buddy List and move on.

Example of an acceptable thread w/link: I totally disagree with this video's opinion on this game. What do you guys think?

Example of an unacceptable thread w/link: I love this video/site! Look at it!

2) No one-word/emoticon posts: "idk", "lol" and " :) " are not appropriate responses. Any such posts of this type will be deleted on sight.

Furthermore, simply quoting a post and either not adding anything or saying "QFT" is not acceptable.

3) No picture-only posts: Posting a lolcat instead of typing out a cohesive response is not acceptable.

4) Myspace-esque threads: We don't care that you failed your last algebra test, or that your significant other broke up with you, or that you have to visit one of the relatives which you hate. Short of someone dying who is incredibly special to you, or your coming down with a terminal illness, these threads don't belong here. If you really want to whine, we have a wonderful IRC chat room for a reason.

5) Power On is for threads that don't belong elsewhere on the forums: If your thread is about Nintendo, put it on the Nintendo board, even though you might get fewer replies than you would in Power On. Keeping everything neat and organized is important.

6) 'Social help' threads: We don't care if you think a girl/guy likes you and you want to know how to approach him/her, or how you stick it in her/his pooper. Go to GovTeen or a teenage health-related site for help in these areas. It's also more fun for us because we get to laugh at all of the idiotic responses that your thread will get there.

7) 'Homework help' threads: We don't care that you procrastinated until the last minute on your science fair project and you want a sudden burst of inspiration, or that you don't get algebra. There are homework help sites, parents, teachers, and Wikipedia for a reason.

8) No "Call Out" Threads: A call out thread is when you make a thread to get the attention of another user. We have a private messaging system for a reason, kids. Use it.

Examples:

-Congratulations (Username)
-(Username) is a spammer
-I like/hate (Username)
-Happy Birthday (Username)

9) No Chat Threads: No chat threads on Power On are allowed, Please use the Official Chat Thread. Example of a Chat Thread:
"I had a good day. How was yours?", "Good Morning", "See you tomorrow", "Good Night" etc...
It's nice to know that you want a conversation but there is a more specific place for something like that.

10) No one gives a poop about your InvisionFree/Proboards forum: It's true. Sorry.

11) No one gives a poop about your ban here or at another forum: Again, it's true. Sorry.

12) Being a intercourse ing moron in a thread is strictly prohibited.

13) No using really intercourse ing annoying text styles.

If you have any questions/concerns with anything please do not hesitate to PM a "Staff Member", we are here to help/serve you.
