Nope. Theft tends to break up trust between people. Let's say your friend figures you stole something, they might distrust or suspect you when something of their's goes missing.

It depends on the motive!

I mean, look at Robin Hood! Stole from the rich, gave it to the poor! That was a GOOD thing!

But other than stealing to help others, yes, stealing is bad.

I only stole ONE thing in my life! I stole my brother's SNES back from a bunch of mean high school kids. Of course, I don't think they minded me stealing the SNES! I'm PRETTY sure they were more worried about what had happened to thier car!  ;D

I remember being a bit of a clepto when I was in my preteens and later single-digits, but I know now that stealing is wrong, and I have reconciled. =)

I stole candy and cookies off the counter at my house. I feel bad for it. :(
