I noticed that even while turned off, my wii is a little warm when I touch it on the fan and its sides. Is this the same for you guys too?

yeah
then that means your wii is never 100% turned off and will use minimum power, and dont worry, it will never hurt the system...

Mine is always a little warm too.  Its always on wii connect24 too. I also have a wii glow fan stand to keep my wii cool. If you dont have one of those, you should definetly get one.
