So... I'm getting a TV capture device tomorrow

Yeah, it can record videos. It'd probably use up a ton of space on your hard drive for that though.

It records the part you tell it to, and only records EXACTLY what would appear on the TV screen (no 3D camera angles or whatever, as if that were even possible...)
