I've tried installing a Linux OS called Freespire (dunno what it is look it up) got onto a Cd and all ready to go with a second hard drive but wait my waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of date motherboard doesn't know how to boot from a CD drive anymore!
To make sure it wasn't the CD i put my windows xp disk in and THAT didn't work...
Another idea, disable all booting devices except the CD drive, O.o
    INSERT DISK INTO A: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thats a floppy drive that isn't even plugged in anymore

Damn will any one tell me how to make my computer boot from a CD drive

(if you don't care, well i posted this cuz I've been stuck in my house for like 5 days with nothing to do....)

I heard Freespire sucks, but that's just what I've heard.  I'd imagine a better choice would be Ubuntu, Xubuntu, or maybe Fedora.

But as for your problem...sounds like you're going to have to boot from an external floppy :D

Good luck finding a linux distro that'll fit on a floppy

Sorry >_>

He tried Installing an Operating System made by Linux, Freespire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freespire).

Burned onto a CD, all ready to go, and it won't boot from the CD drive.

His old motherboard is retarded, and no matter where Drive A is on the boot list, it says to boot from it.

Drive A: = Floppy Drive

(He's dead, give him a chance)
