Leeland Yee, state senator of California has been trying to get video games off the shelves and out of the hands of everyone under 18.

Just one problem... he don't know poop. Look at this quote from him.

Eighty-seven percent of children between 8 and 17 years of age play video or computer games and about 60 percent list their favorite games as rated M for Mature, which are games designed for adults.

Where the hell did he get 87 percent from? I'm guessing he pulled it right out of his ass.

It is vitally important that parents and grandparents consider the content in video games before making holiday purchases.  Regrettably, the rating system alone cannot be trusted, so parents should also carefully watch the content included in all their children's games.

The ESRB can't be trusted? Um last time I looked they usually explain why the game is rated whatever it is. The parents are to blame if their children are playing games like GTA or Manhunt. It's not because of the ESRB. They are rating games harder then they should be.

Unfortunately, some parents don't realize that in many top selling games, the player actively participates in and is rewarded for violence, including killing police officers, maiming elderly persons, running over pedestrians, and torturing women and racial minorities.

I just lol'd at this. Tell me Yee, name one video game where you are rewarded for killing cops, maiming elderly 'persons', running over pedestrians and  torturing women and racial minorities. You aren't rewarded for any of these things in games like GTA. In fact, you get dire consequences for killing cops. And why are you singling out women. Is it worse then torturing Men? That my sir is sexism. It is not OK.

Avoid the "first person shooter" and "third person shooter" killing-machine games.

Discourage games that reward the player with more points or new scenes for anti-social and violent behavior.

First, "Killing machine games?" wtf is that. Also, you may not of noticed, but video games usually don't use "Points" anymore.

How the hell did this guy become state senator?  :|

Mystic

I love it when people say ESRB can't be trusted. ESRB, if anything, is harsh when it comes to rating certain games.

Although, Jack is still dumber so...

I've called him once and his wife answered I think.

I said "Hi this is Playgirl looking for Jack Thompson? He was looking to renew his subscription?" She hung up though.
