I've heard of that but have never been bored enough to do so.  I plant to play a 99 stock match at Hyrule on February 9.  It will be my last Melee match.  Notice how last is in bold print.
Selling the game?
Hell no.  Feb 9 is the last day to play Melee cuz Brawl comes out the 10th so playing Melee is meaningless but I will still keep it.
I still play 64 occasionally. Maybe I'm just to into Melee :P.

Anyway Hyrule, doing that would actually make you worse. Once you get to a certain point, training on CPUs at all is a bad idea. Level one is the only thing that should be considered as they are best for practicing on. And, for a more on topic discussion, old.
Meh, I think it's pretty cool.
I never said it wasn't cool, I just said it was old. About 6 years old, depending on when Melee came out.

...Friend codes were probably implemented by the same people who wanted tripping in Brawl...
...It's quite obvious...

I still need to practice. I'm decent at it, but my older brother always beats me with sheik :( but I am getting better. :P

I think it's perfect training especially because I'm doing it the day before Brawl comes out.  I've only owned Melee for a year but have been playing with my friends for 4 years and I've never done a 99 stock match.   I don't understand how level ones are better training.  Sure you can work on combos but competing against the toughest computers the game has to offer you'll need awesome skill which I have.  All the computers in Melee don't even know how to run so beating them will be a piece of cake.  I think it's good preparation for Brawl because that game is going to be a lot tougher than Melee.

Level 1's are the best training because 1) they DI differently (1-5 does), and 2) you won't develop a serious mindset playing them. Computers are stupid, plain and simple. One time I was playing Classic on very hard with Fox, and when I got to the metal match, I was against bowser. I sat at one side of the stage and SHL constantly. He took a step forward, and breathed fire for about 5 seconds while I shot him. Then, he took another step forward and began the same process. Not a single human in the world would do that, unless they thought the point of the game was to get hit the most. What you can pull off on a computer usually won't work on a human, and vice-versa. My 6 year old brother can beat a level 9 computer. It takes little-to-no skill to beat one. The least you could do is fight a level 8. If you are into getting good, either get your friends really into melee, or go to www.smashboards.com, check out the region section nearest you, and then either look for your states thread or make a thread asking for some people in your area that want to play. Not 99 stocks against level 9s.

I really need to rent Melee again before the game comes out...

I hope they didn't cut out Shiek. :-X

Her character model has already been confirmed, so I doubt it.

So is pretty much everyone else who tries Shiek. :P She's the easiest character to pick up.

Zelda is so slow. I transform into Shiek as soon as I can because I never bother to hold down the button to make her Shiek from the start.

Are you a professional at this game?  You sould like you are.  I feel that this 99 stock match is a good challenge for player skill, strategies, and endurance.  It's mostly for fun anyway.  Me and my brother are excellent fighters but playing against level 9s is still going to be fun even though there chances of beating us are close to 0.
