I am currently using OS X 10.5. I absolutely despise the following 5 things about its defaults.

1. 3D Dock as the default. There is not even an option to turn it off in system preferences, so unless you have some knowhow, you are screwed. What were they thinking?
2. Transparent Menubar. Again, what were they thinking?
3. The lack of a "keep playing" feature in front row. In Tiger, when you played some music in front row and exited it, it would keep on playing. Not anymore.....
4. The Safari "Download Stack" With the quantities of files I download every single day, this and stacks in general are made useless.
5. Opening just about any media file is a iTunes default. What if I don't want in my library? It should have been a QUICKTIME default, not iTunes. What were they thinking.....

Now it is your turn.

Vista:

1. No XP-style skin and the mod for "unlocking" the theme settings for unofficial themes is blocked...>:(

2. bloatware, still haven't gotten rid of it all

3. faulty drivers DIEEEEEEEEE

4. putting the programs and such in the Start Menu thingy itself...it's kinda annoying.  I like the big menus D:

5. not much freeware made especially for Vista yet...hmm...

It doesn't come with an emulator.  :(
OS X does, but then again it is needed for all those PowerPC apps. Not everything has a universal binary.....

Not too much I can think of now.

But I have one for my laptop.

This Toshiba laptop goes to hibernate mode when I close the screen and I don't know how to change it. It is good when I want to hibernate it, but I'd rather not have it intercourse  up every time I close the screen

I actually can't think of anything wrong with XP, it works perfectly for me.

Don't you have it skinned to look like Vista?

The thread isn't about problems. "Name the top 5 things you hate about the defaults of the OS you are using."   If you change the default theme, you must hate that.

If that works, sure.

okay my turn.

1)For some reason Right Clicking is turned off by default
2)The dock icons aren't transparent when hidden unless you enable it in the dock
3)Photobooth saves every image in reverse.

that's all I can think of right now.

Commander Awesome

I'm using Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. It's a varient of Windows Server 2003.

Only thing it really needs is more compatibility. It wasn't compatible with Open Office for the longest time.
Also needs 16-bit app. compatibility.

Ew, XP. :(
95 > XP.

Ok, before I start, you can make the dock go away by selecting the "hide dock" option in the Apple menu.

1. Completely different from XP and complicated.
2. I had to get a better graphics card that wasn't included with the computer.
3. I'm not good at PC gaming yet.
4. I can't even download a picture without seeing, "pictureview.exe is trying to launch. Allow?"
5. Everythings either rearranged or renamed, making things harder to find.

That's me. :D ^
