Why do the Pikmin look so...blocky?

My argument was that he only had two plausible moveset types.

A) He could pluck Pikmin out of the ground, up to one of each type.
My argument for this was that, due to their nature, that few Pikmin wouldn't suffice to beat other players.

B) He could constantly pluck Pikmin to have a Pikmin Army.
My agrument was that that would cause Pikmin spam, and the stage would be flooded.

I figured he'd be best as an AT, with his whistle, he'd go to one part of the stage, blow his whistle, and an army would stampede in that direction.

Well, if they could give characters like Falcon and Fox a moveset, I don't think making one for Olimar should be too terribly difficult, as he's actually seen and used in the game. The Pikmin are probably powered up too, so having only 5, respawnable Pikmin doesn't seem to be too much of a problem.

Eh, I just didn't see it as the nature of their characters. The Captain Falcon and Fox arguments never do anything for me either, Captain Falcon is a bounty hunter and Fox was in the Cornerian Army, they're bound to be able to fight.

Olimar though is basically defenseless on his own, save a few punches, and the Pikmin can hardly stand on their own. However, and army of them stampeding, that'd be nuckin' futs.

Well, it's easy to take down small foes with one Pikmin and Olimar's command, so it isn't too far-fetched.

You're gonna compare the likes of Mario and Ike, amongst the others, to a small Bulborb?

That's what the other 4 are for. :P I'm assuming that Olimar is near worthless on his own like Popo, but unlike Popo he has regenerating Nanas.... if that made the slightest bit of sense. And like I said, the Pikmin probably trade endurance for power and speed, so it could still be balanced.

I personally thought he could pluck them during a match, like the description.

perhaps if he grabs a pikmin he gains that pikmins power?
like the yellow jumpy one
the red is for all aroud
purple for power
white for speed
and blue for defense?

We're still going to get about 10 more newcomers that we will know when Japan gets the game.

I just can't see the fact that he's in the game. I never would've guessed it. I wasn't for him and I wasn't against him but, it was hard for me to see him in. Now he is and who knows what surprises we'll get for other newcomers
