and i dont think he really deserves it compared to many other characters
sure he is probably one of the main metroid bosses but even so he really just wouldnt fit into the game

No other Metroid character deserves it more. And Metroid deserves at least 2 characters this time around.

He murdered a toddlers mother in front of her.

And ZSS doesn't count as a character. Sakurai said it himself on the old Dojo.

But you can be a boss and playable  ::)

I think that any "playable bosses" will be a bit different as bosses than they are as characters.
For example, I think the Bowser boss will involve him relying on that Subspace laser he has in the trailer, but his playable form obviously doesn't.  Also, if you pay attention in the video, Wario gets the laser too...

Characters like him usually draw some casual gamers to the game becuase they think "Oh look a dragon. That would be cool to play as." and we all know Nintendo is trying to get casuals. Nintendo veterans are sure to recognize him as he is pretty familiar. He was supposed to be in melee but took him out due to time restraints and the wing problem like Pit. They already have graphics of him from the melee intro that they can inhance for his design in Brawl making him a pretty easy character to make. Also you never answered who would be more deserving. Anything else?
