I was deleting spam in my email account earlier today when I came across this little, pathetic gem.

love-shy.com

If you have found your way here, then you may be one of us.
If most of the following statements apply to you, then it is very likely that you are love-shy.

* You are an adult male
* You have never, or very rarely had girlfriends
* You have never, or very rarely had sex
* You have remained single while all your friends dated and got married
* You are so inhibited by your fear of asking a woman for a date that you never do

From their FAQ:

What is love shyness?

The common denominator for all love shy persons are that they have a paralyzing fear of expressing romantic interest to women they have intimate feelings for. In addition to this, many love shy persons have a deep and often obsessive need to be with a beautiful woman. This often manifests itself in an obsession with a woman within their vicinity, whom they put high up on a pedestal as the woman of their life...without her ever knowing about it of course, and maybe even without ever managing to say a single word to her.

In addition comes a piercing shame of not being man enough to manage a simple thing like getting laid. Also, love shy persons often have general problems with social situations, which means they often don't have many friends or people to confide in. in some cases, this can result in serious depression.

Can't I talk to a psychiatrist for a few hours and have him fix all of my problems?

General social anxiety may be helped with some hours talking with a professional, but understanding dating and relating to women is a little more complicated. Most guys manage this intuitively and if asked would be very hard pressed to explain what it is they do to attract women, millions of years of evolution have hard wired this behaviour in to their brains and it is mostly instinctive. This would appear not to be the case for the average love shy male (Actually, it is more likely to have been repressed rather than missing altogether). So what is instinctive for the vast majority of guys is something that you are actually going to have to learn. You will need to have a general feeling of how dating type social interraction is conducted, either intuitively or by reading about it. Then you will need to practice until it becomes intuitive! Get out and socialize! Also, most psychiatrists appear not to be aware of the love shy problem and would probably just lump it together with general social anxiety (which may help, or not, I don't know).

They have a nifty 20 question test on the main page, so let's have everyone post their results. From what I gathered, the test will only load in internet explorer for some dumb reason, though.

*EDIT* Got a 85 on the test.

Everything in this world must be gay, that's all I ever hear nowdays.
Your post is gay.

Gay Luigi?

On a serious note, I kinda am.  I just started to get into it (10th grade).  I had two gfs, not laid yet.  My ex dumped me for this emo kid.
