For those of you saying we'll be safe since it'll miss, I don't think so. It doesn't matter if it doesn't hit us. It could cause plasma discharge interference with Earth. That could cause MASSIVE explosions, earthquakes, storms, on earth. It already happened about 100 years ago in like 1908 I think. The comet was only 50 ft wide and caused an explosion in Russia and it didn't even hit earth. It was 830 square miles. Good thing it was in the forest. Here's how big 830 Square Miles is in London:



Now let's compare this current comet to the one 100 years ago.



The big one is the one thats coming near us. It won't hit. It COULD hit Mars though. Like I said, it could still cause plasma discharge without it even entering our atmosphere. Anyway, the small comet in the picture is the one that caused that huge explosion in Russia 100 years ago. Imagine what could happen to us with THIS massive comet.
