I have no friends. My stepdad hates me, and I hate him. My mom has been taking some depression medication lately, and is always acting high when she takes them. I hate her on them. One of my sisters hates me, and another one of my sisters doesn't want anything to do with me. Finally, the one person in the world I care about, my other sister, Kim, who I can usually go to for anything, and I love her more than anyone else in the world, apparently got hooked on World of Warcraft by her husband, and she hasn't said barely a word to me pretty much all month. Today I tried talking to her on IM, but she said "I have to get off to play WoW. You should make a character on it. That's something we can do together" and got off. We didn't talk or anything.

I have no one to talk to now. It's quite depressing, the feeling of absolutely loneliness.

That sounds awful. I really don't know what I could possibly say to cheer you up. I sometimes feel the same because I don't have many friends, I have had troubles with certain courses in school and I'm painfully shy, but what you're dealing with on a daily basis makes my ordeals seem like nothing.

I hope something can be done for your cause.

If it's becoming that much of a problem, maybe you should take a break from the internet. Sure, the internet is great if you're in the mood throwaway social interactions or easy, shallow, unconditional friendships, but if you actually want a legitimate real life friend, it's pretty much the worst place to go.

It didn't list your age in your profile, so I don't know if you're still in school. If you could tell us that would make it easier to give advice.
"I like cigarettes, Mrs. Taggart. I like to think of fire held in a man's hand. Fire, a dangerous force, tamed at his fingertips. I often wonder about the hours when a man sits alone, watching the smoke of a cigarette, thinking. I wonder what great things have come from such hours. When a man thinks, there is a spot of fire alive in his mind-and it is proper that he should have the burning point of a cigarette as his one expression..."

I don't agree at all.  Internet friendships can be as meaningful as physical ones, just in a different way.  It's still the same idea: you are able to talk and have fun with someone who shares similar interests with you and that you really love being around (if even only in IRC or a message board).

I expect that kind of opinion from someone who doesn't go on the Internet much, really.

Indeed. Internet friendships are very important. They're about all the friends I have.
The eye that looks ahead to the safe course is closed forever.

This board isn't for Myspace threads either.  I'd hardly consider this worth being in Serious Discussion.

I had it in Serious Discussion to start with, but for whatever reason JMV moved it.

Which really sucks, because now I'll get a ton of "go kill yourself, emo kid" posts.

This isn't the kind of thread that should be in Serious Discussion.

Serious Discussion is for extremely intelligent debates about a range of current events, religious/spiritual/etc. topics, scientific ideas, etc etc etc.

Right, since the people on my AIM list could care less about me.
Oh, and the members here? Pfft, if I disappeared, they wouldn't care.

Anyways, just try to start conversations with people at school. Try to find a common identity. That's how most friendships start.

If you dissapeared, i'd care. this place would go pfft.

Yeah, just try to make some friends, if you can, try spending more ime with them, go to their houses, etc.
I really hate how I've made more than 12,000 posts here. Thankfully this swaying, moving Chandelure makes it all worth it.

That sucks. No friends online? Someone must have the same interests as you...

bawwwww

Lock for being too MySpace-esque. If you really need friends, talk to people you know about interests you share in common, like music, TV shows you like, or video games. But don't think everyone hates you, I sure don't. If you ever want to chat, my IM names are available.
