I may not have worded it well on that post but if you go and read the interview third volume Sakurai gives you a hint that those stages aren't in.  Rainbow Cruise was a miracle to get in.  I wish it didn't return though.

Yeah, I would have rather had Big Blue or PokeFloats.

I hated that place the most in Mario 64 Ds.

And the ship comes right up.  That happens to me sometimes.  I don't play there much.

I loved activating Pokemon on those stages.  Seeing Pokemon carry off other Pokemon off the screen in Poke Floats and ones that remain in the air on the Big Blue stage just flew off the left side of the screen! xD

Those are just fun levels and for those that were against them anyways, it took EXTRA SKILL to fight and navigate those stages.  Final Destination, one-on-one, no items?  One, that's boring, and two, you've eliminated a ton of the game making it not just boring but even less enjoyable in that sense too, and three, if you have enough skill you can make amazing use of items and obstacles in levels.  I think you're a better player when you can adapt to more, not fix it up for less strategy. :-\

If those stages don't make it in, I shall miss them very much.
