This is quite a hard rumor to talk about. It involves spoilers if you are hiding yourselves from info on who did and didn't make it into the final Brawl roster. I guess I will explain the story after a jump, so that way people that don't want spoilers won't get one.


I thought the rumor of Geno in Brawl was an outlandish one, but some of the info in this story makes me think different. Awhile back, Sakurai asked Japan what characters they wanted to see in Brawl. According to Dpad, the top 10 fan picks made it into Brawl...minus Geno. Furthermore, they say Geno sat atop the list. The article also takes the final roster screenshot to push the rumor that Square-Enix was the reason Brawl was delayed.

They said that Geno was indeed in the game, but Square-Enix and Nintendo couldn't work out the final deal. That forced the delay, the removal of the character, and the odd placement of the random character box.

It's becoming a huge internet joke - so much so that I couldn't resist posting it. Many people think that the roster is significantly disappointing, mostly because of the lack of Geno. I thought that a joke might take some of the Geno stuff out of people's mind.'
