The Disc Could Not Be Read

<sup>My Playstation 2 has officially borked. After trying to pop in Guitar Hero III and it not working, I noticed that there were some smudges on the disc. So, I cleaned the disc off, popped it back in, and it still didn't work. So, after thinking that it may not be just that game, I pop in another game. No scratches. No smudges. Nothin'.

Still doesn't work =/

I don't know what happened. Plus, we don't have the receipt anymore, so I doubt sending it in to Sony would do any good at all.

This happened to me too. I set it up to play for the first time.  Never moved it, bashed, etc. It just stopped reading things. We didn't play it for about half a year, then my brother popped in some discs, and a few of them work again.  ;D

my friend's PS2 couldn't read  PS2 games only PS one (after a long time :P)

What we did was we opened it up and and tryed to clean the lens.
