actually, i've seen some pros at it, and they definitely know what they're doing. if you simply react to the ball and flipper, there is no way to get such high scores as they are getting (100M+ where the average player only gets like 5M). i'd like to know what things to aim for, how to use the flippers effectively, etc.

It sort of depends on the machine, every one is different.

Just practice I guess.
