"Although SegaNet is offline in North America, it still remains online in parts of Europe as DreamArena."

Believe it or not, Sega Net still works in some parts of Europe.

And yet, it went offline in Japan October 2007.

Some Europeans play it, apparently.

yeah....it's been a standard feature for like....forever....I'm talking going back to the Atari 2600

I'm not kidding you could download games onto it using a special cartridge and a cable service....

then in Japan there was a service that let you check stocks on the Famicom....and I'm not even going into the BSX, the Xband, the Sega Channel, the trading pokemon over the cell phone with
Pokemon Crystal, and the N64 DD.....and the Sega Saturn....

sheesh online is an ancient thing that only became standard in 2003 wtf?

Relax there.  I knew about the DD, Crystal, and that SNES had something like that.

Tupin

I knew there was online service ever since the first popular console.

I'm just saying they were very expensive and rarely used.

Not surprising, considering games are also still being made for that quirky little system.

Of course you do. Any self-respecting Dreamcast or Saturn gamer should have something like that. Way too many great titles never released in the US.

I never owned a Dreamcast.
