Stupid California state law requires us to be signed up for the lessons before we can get the permit. We don't actually have to take any of the lessons (at least not until after you get the permit), but you have to sign up for them.

it's not that difficult... i failed the first time (driving) because my tester was a moron and thought that my inching closer to the stop sign meant that I was going to drive into traffic that would have had me getting t-boned.


parallel parking is ridiculously easy, and you'll never use it.

I did the test in a huge SUV.  it makes parallel parking with my Versa easy. :P

Yeah, that knowledge test isn't the hardest thing in the world.  It's mostly common sense questions.

That's gotta suck.  I don't have to take lessons to get the permit, the permit allowing you to take them so you can get the GDL (Graduated Drivers License), as long as you go for six months w/o a moving violation, and are 16.  Although the GDL isn't quite the full license...  The full license is at 17 if you have no moving violation for a full year!

No offence but that test is all common sence I didn't study at all and passed with 100% on my  first try. I'm currently taking drivers ed (boring).
