He's not a good choice for a fighter.  There are better characters.

He does have many possibilities...

It just annoys me that he compares him to a Nintendog in terms of fighting capabilities.

Iwata:  Alright, Sakurai; you have two choices for a new character that is a robot who would represent a new series in Brawl.  One of them has a huge fanbase, has had more games than Olimar, could easily be in despite his size just like Olimar was resized, and had tons of futuristic weapons to use.  The other is an old, unpopular character with no current moveset, but if you pick him, you win 2 packs of curly fries!  So, which is it gonna be?

Sakurai:  Hmm... Fans, curly fries, fans, curly fries, fans, curly fries...  I'll go with the curly fries!!!!!!

hey i told everyone that and i got criticized at first
i wouldnt care if he was playable but i just said i was 100% positive he was only gonna be a boss 8)
