I've said it before, and i'll say it again.

The closing of the Nsider forums was an..early April Fools Joke.

On April 1st of 2008, Nsider will reopen, and on the homepage, there will be a bulletin that says "APRIL FOOLS OLOLOL SORRY WE CLOSED NSIDER WE'RE ALL BASTARDS BUT WELCOME BACK"

*nod nod* Yup, that's what's gunna happen.
It closed in September....
Exactly, see, if they closed it on April Fools Day, then it'd be lame, because they'd close it, 5 minutes later it reopens "ololol April Fools."

Nope, they had to do it this way. Leaving it closed for longer just makes us all more mad at it being closed, and we realize how much we miss it. But yeah..I guarantee it will be back on April 1st. :)

That Actually made sense

Friendly Hostile

For the last time, it's not coming back you idiots.  Anyone who thinks so is delusional.
Nintendo realized what a waste of money the place was and that it was no longer serving it's purpose: advertising.  So they shut it down.  They opened the Tech forum to more than likely keep people from whining about not having a forum to go to for problems.

But for intercourse s sake, get it through your heads: It is not coming back.  Ever.  So move on already.

I disagree.
It might be just me, but I wouldn't have been nearly as informed on nintendo and it's games if it wasn't for nsider. I would of never gotten a DSL, half my DS games, a wii on launch, and all my wii games.
Damn nsider turned me into a nerd  :P

But I'm pretty sure that that is a fact for alot of people on nsider. People would go there, learn about upcoming games, and then buy them right away because of all the hype.

My personal threory of nsiders death had to do with all of the new 'casual' gamers seeing forums.nintendo.com or whatever in their game manuals and going to check it out. Nsider had such a crazy community, that it may of turned people away, making them think less of nintendo as a whole. It may not sound that logical, but it's the most reasonable thing that I could think of.

Hello, I was using my personal experience as an example. I know many ex-nsiders who had the same thing happen.

stop trying to be a hardass, it's not working

I, the other hand, was never inspired by NSider to go out and buy a game.  If anything, a lot of the time, it drove me away from purchasing a new one.  After seeing how retarded many of Nintendo's fans were, I found myself wanting to be less and less associated with Nintendo.

Kraziwun

I really hope they reopen it someday.

I didn't go there everyday, but I still enjoyed visiting. It gave me something more to do on the internet.

I remember being on that morning before it closed.

It was weird how it just closed that afternoon.
Same here. I just gave someone my CCEP Elekid to EV train and when I went back to get it, they closed  :'(

Or, perhaps, F_H has a point. Nintendo's not going to keep up a message board where few constructive posts actually happen in the most active board, the video game boards are mostly ignored, and the tech support boards are commonly raided.

Whoever gave the decision probably thought it would be better to get rid of NSider altogether than clean out individual posts and boards.
