Has this ever happened to you?

You type a fairly long post, and you put a lot of thought into it, and you're almost ready to finish, then you decide to put a space, then a smiley at the end, and it deletes the entire post, and only the smiley remains?

Yes, I mean here.

It's happened to me about five (5) times now.  >:(
