BRB/IDLING/LEAVING/AWAY etc. We need a standard "brb" motion. Long Read.

It would seem that for the most part, when people fight (and when I mean people, I mean US as in NSF'ers fighting eachother) eachother, there are times where....
sadly we have to leave.

Reasons being doorbell, somebody calling us, telephone ringing etc...
It happens to us all, and it is THE most annoying thing.

IMHO I think we ALL need to agree/discuss a way to let "everybody knows who's currently fighting in a Brawl" that, THAT person has left there tv.

Standard motion is for a character to stand on the far Left or Right side of a stage
and press the "down" arrow repeatedly showing that, "hey, I have to brb"
etc...

How many people have done this?
Usually when a person does this, it's to show signs of that person laughing or something along those lines...maybe motions of Victory!

Cause trust me, other then leaving your tv while in the midst of a brawl the next most annoying thing that could ever happen to you is some N00B KO'ing you while you never had the chance to defend  yourself.
(you know who you are you shameless attackers).

*All I'm saying is that when we DO have to leave for a short/emergency notice
that we DO go on the far left or right side of the stage and press down a few times...that way, nobody will attack you (and hopefully the fighting will just stop until that person who left comes back).

Of course you can't just say you leave, and think of a way to attack by sneaking a hit... you'll lose your trust for fighting people.
We must honor the Honor system!

Heh, of course you can be an A-hole and attack regardless, thats your choice, ...I guarantee you'll be the target of a lot of people when fighting in a full force Brawl.

Thoughts/Opinions?
What are other ways do you think can we communicate with eachother when we have to leave.

Me personally, I do go on the far left or right side of the stage and press down a few time, but I make my character "Lean" over the edge to where he/she about to fall ((But he/she doesn't)), that to me is showing a distress stage to let everybody know, I'm Vulnerable because I left my tv, so don't attack me.

**Saying BRB in TAUNTS really doesn't WORK.

Oh and I forgot to Add, if a Random Bob-omb walks your way or somebody runs past you and puts a sticky Bomb (or gooey) on you, it's your own Fault! :P
Try to BRB in a safe place if possible???
lol

THAT'S.... Actually really good  ;D
It would help for serious Brawls too, like in a tournament or one of those matches in the thread with the latter.

Nice thinking ;)

Oh Vesperia, never change... never change

GreatGonzales106

I agree with you. There needs to be some way to either spread this message further or just find a different way to make it clear that you will "brb"

Thank you!  :robothappy:

Of course this would be a "Universal Language" of NSF...
I'm really sure other forums won't really follow such a rule, but because we are a small yet steady and growing community, I think something like this is fairly easy to use and remember.

Me and Darklink140 do this all the time. :D
or when we are trying to communicate another way...
Kind of like, 'Good Luck!' *crouches up and down 5 times* :D

I didn't expect us to get this to EVERYONE EVERYWHERE, but it is good for serious matches like I said. Or, if your having a 30 stock battle

EDIT: It would just be bad, because the opponent wouldn't let you to the edge, or it was a match that changed and killed you, that would be bad

Oh Vesperia, never change... never change

Surly, if a person is BY the edge you can go to another, or get as close as possible and do the motions of BRB.

Of course LOL...... if your on Samus stage (I forgot what you call it) and the stage flips upside down then of course it's your loss...... or even my beloved Mario Bros Stage.... well sorta. :D

Star. I agree with every word you just said and think that this could be the solution to our match interrupting problems. You should float this so it doesn't get bumped down. Then everyone who hasn't had a chance to read this won't miss it. A job well done  :)

I use taunts, and anyone I have played has understood. Then again, what is hard understanding "BRB!"

Well heres the thing with the BRB.

People use it when they Taunt, the fight stops.... but then the person who uses BRB Attacks usually resulting in a KO or an unwanted advantage.

Plus, I like taunts...for teasing or for making a funny comment during a funny situation, I don't want to lose a Taunt Slot with "BRB".

Matt

When I leave I usually run to the other side and duck down a few times.

Some of us don't care if we lost a slot though, that is why making a "code" never has, and never will work.

You never know Until you try however.

It's an idea/concept I think people can work into there fighting style Just in case something does come up.

If you don't mind saying BRB in a taunt slot, thats perfectly fine, thats totally up to you.
*However, to say how "it" won't work with out even trying really defeats the purpose of trying anything.

This is something that is gonna take a while for everybody to do (which is fine), I just think it's a good way to communicate when something comes up. Because as I said, being interrupted while fighting is annoying... it's unavoidable, but it can atleast help people out.

Also, it's not a "code" it's a "gesture" or "motion" so to speak.
And, I am not forcing/telling people to do it either.
Trying to help, that is all.

I would never waste a taunt spot, taunts are so magical :D

I'd rather just do a continuous movement.
