The thing I hate about Brawl's graphics.

The different art styles from character to character. Prime example, Link has TP graphics, semi-realistic. However, Olimar* has a very cartoony appearance, at least to me.

*I was going to use G&W or TL, but that was the point of their characters. Also, please note this is an OPINION .

Shujinco2

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Same with Character/Stage comparisons.

Nayrman

Well, Toon Link is SUPPOSEd to be cartooney.
But it's just combining the looks from different types of games. Make Mario uber-realistic wouldn't look rigth, but making Samus look kiddy doesn't work either, so they stayed the same.
I mean, just look at Jump Ultimate Stars, it always looks a little wierd, but whatever, you get over it....

Good point. But I don't think they should make extremes. They should've met in the middle.

Olimar looks much more realistic than he ever did before...

And in my opinion, the whole point of Smash Bros is to have games collide. Playing with Snake on Yoshi's Island and having Snorlax come out of a Pokeball is half the fun.

DededeCloneChris

Well, let them be, they are in their Twilight Princess' forms.

thunderhero4

I think that was a pretty cool idea! I really feel like I was teleported to the WW world when I play on that stage! ;)

Apollo

i think olimar's got some detail
they just want to keep the same style of every character
if you look really close you can see all the detail in his suit

as for graphics
i feel that the graphics for the pokeball pokemon are incredibly terrible

Rius

Everyone is extremely detailed, but they are only as realistic as their series dictate. Of course Samus or Snake will be more realistic than Mario or Olimar; in essence, their worlds in whole are more realistic. Just as their moves and worlds reflect this, so do their graphics. Even the music represents this, somewhat. A collision of worlds that should have nothing to do with each other is what Smash is all about.

Also, they did meet a common ground. Asides from the small details in their graphics, they essentially have the same base. If they stuck to their roots, Toon Link would look more like his WW form, and Pit would be as flat as Game & Watch.

True, the graphics are equall, but the point of my argument is the different art styles. I never said they all weren't extremly detailed, it's just that when I play for a while, the different art styles are hard for my eyes to adjust to, making it hard to play. Even though I have great vision, my eyes are sensitive.

Triforce_Luigi

Meh. It seems right to me. I can't imagine characters like Snake to be like Toon Link or have Mario as realistic as Snake. But the best thing for me is having Snake fight Mr. Game and Watch on the Pirate Ship with Munchlax eating.

Wilhelmina Carmel

I see what you mean. I find it funny that Lucas is older the Red, but Red is like two times taller.

Everything is supposed to look different, IMO.

I mean, Ness looking like a real boy?

Nonsense.

Yeah, if you look at the trailer from '06 it shows the characters changing mario, link, kirby, and pikachu, mario and link looked a little different, but kirby was still the same pink blob
