I still don't frankly care for Text/Voice Chat in a game. Sure it's a nice feature to have, but that's not a good reason to knock a game/system/company. Ask me, Text/Voice Chat in a game is over-rated.

And Nintendo is keeping up with demand as best they can. No company could predict the immense popularity that the Wii has gotten. It's like the greatest thing since Sliced Bread and Beaver Fever. Not even Microsoft would be able to keep up with a demand of this nature. Besides, it gives people like me a chance to make some easy money by creating a "Wii Locator Service".

As for neglecting franchises, each and every company does that now and then. When was the last time you saw Earthworm Jim? What about Toe Jam and Earl? There are plenty of franchises that have been neglected over the years that no one remembers. As for keeping things in Japan. Well, duh, It's Japan. Japan gets 1st dibs on basically everything, they are often considered an even mroe important market than the US. It's often considered if it fails in Japan, it will fail in America. How true that is exactly, I haven't a clue.

And Im starting to wonder why people come here because they are fans of Nintendo to only complain about it... :(
THAT... is the single GREATEST statement I have EVER read in my entire history with FCD. I take my hat of to you, sir.
And those were the greatest few paragraphs I have ever read on this site! I salute you too! :) Nintendo deserves better from their fans! >:(

Nintendo hasn't kept me as entertained in the past few years like they entertained me with the original Animal Crossing and Windwaker.

I agree.  Nintendo's still my favorite company, but they do need to get back to the quality of their main games, not the quantity of age groups they can serve.  I mean, it's nice that Nintendo wants to make more gamers, but once someone becomes a gamer, are they supposed to just stay at the level of gimmicky mediocracy they came on, or will Nintendo pull them in even further by actually providing some REAL games?  And in the meantime, what are we actual gamers supposed to look forward to?  I mean, I used to be a major Nintendo fanboy, but now the 5 games I'm looking forward to the most are multi-console, with some of them not even available on Nintendo!  That's proof that Nintendo is losing fans, no matter how small a group, because they chose "Let's see how many people we can get money from!" rather than "Let's see how awesome of a game we can make!"

Shut up. Please, shut up. People like you are the reason stuff doesn't get done. If no one complains, how iwll Nintendo know they're doing something wrong? If you don't like it when I hit you, I won't know unless you tell me.

Being a fan doesn't mean suck up to them, even if they're doing something horribly wrong. We complain cause we like Nintendo, and we want them to fix their problems.

Yes. I won't buy a Zelda/Mario game unless it looks good to me, and even if it looks good to me, I could not like it. Like with TP.

Oh, and Nintendo was one of the lowest rated companies in a poll of major companies that change their products/services based on customer feedback.

I'm aware. However, complaining is more likely to do something than say...

They ARE based in the country that made it possible to have 4GB of memory on a card the size of a thumbnail, right?

I find that HILARIOUS. I mean, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't Wii have the lowest price games?

Like, Wii games are about $50, X-box $60, and Sony $70?

Seems like something isn't right callign Wii games over-priced.

Yeah, and they are also the only company that encourages third parties to set their own price for the game, whether it's $50, $40, $30, or $20. Nintendo gives them a recommendation on price, and they usually agree. Sony and Microsoft usually force them to make it $60 and then let them slowly drop the price.

However, they sometimes overcharge for their own games. Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree is not worth $50, especially after a year of being on the market.

Uh huh, well perhaps unlike you, I have a car to put gas into and a few bills to pay. So if you live in a mansion and have so much money that you can complain about how low the prices and that Nintendo lets them set their own price rather than forcing them, then send some of that money my way.

I mean seriously, complaining Nintendo's prices are too high when they are cheapest ones on the market... I.. I'm sorry, I just can't see where you're coming from on that one.

Yeah, they are cheap, but they don't last very long.

$50 for a game that lasts 5 hours isn't a very good deal.

That's no excuse for keeping the MOTHER franchise over there.

Nintendo knows that there are a ton of people here in America that want to look into MOTHER. Hell, Earthbound and MOTHER 1 took the Top 2 slots in a survey taken by Nintendo Power(?) asking what games they would most want to see on the Virtual Console.

I really don't see Nintendo's strategy here...

DBY106698

1st of all what games are you buying, cause obviously, they're not the right kind for you.

2nd, wait for the prices to come down then. Seriously. most of the time when a game comes out, it's gonna be at the highest price, in Wii's case $50. It's only gonna go down from there.

3rd. That still doesn't make any sense as far as letting companies choose the price, would you rather Nintendo force a comapny to make the price $50 even if the company thinks it's only worth $30? Or would you rather let the company choose to price it at $50? I mean, take your pick. Personally, I choose the latter. If you got a probably with 3rd parties chargin too much, take that up with the 3rd Party, that's not Nintendo's fault.

As for Java, I never said it was an excuse. I'm just saying that's usually the case. As for seeing Nintendo's strategy. Good luck seeing it. I sure as hell don't work for Nintendo so I haven't a clue what it is and Is eriosuly doubt you work for 'em. It's possible they're using the classic "saving the best for last" type of thing. I mean, if they through MOTHER, MArio 3, Mario World, Earthbound, MEtriod Goldeneye, and all the best games out there right at the beginning, why would you bother downloading the crappy ones that come out later? Give out the crap and make them hold themselves over on that then give out the good stuff everyone is waiting for. Not a great strategy, but it makes the money.

Tupin

MOTHER 3 came out two years ago.

EarthBound and MOTHER are the number one and two most wanted VC games, respectively.

What is Nintendo not getting? So much crap is on the VC, so can't they throw us a bone?

Or at least give us Super Mario RPG, there hasn't been a must buy VC game in months.

DBY106698

Hey, I won't argue with that one. Most of the games I've got on VC are games I already have and can play on their original systems right now. I'm just saying, It's possible they're trying to get people to buy crap to keep themselves entertained until the good stuff comes out. While a few Titles on VC have interested me, very few have convinced me of downloading it. Especially with all these 1 on 1 fighters, seriously, is that like.. all Neo-Geo had going for it practically?

The whole Mario RPG thing doesn't mean squat to me. I mean, I understand why everyone wants it. It's a great game on a classic system that is already rare as it is. But, I have it and can play it right now if I want. So, no skin off my nose if it don't come out soon.
