ULTIMATE MARIO SHOWDOWN

Ever wondered who the most popular character in the Mario universe is? I hope to determine that at the end of this thread.

I have pitted Mario's friends, allies, and enemies, all against each other in a tournament to decide who is the Ultimate Mario Character!

There are 60 characters from the Mario universe going head-to-head, so there has to be someone that you like! Some characters might be obscure, while others might be more popular.

Every day, I will be posting a poll, which will be the day's match-up.
Whichever character has the most votes by the end of the day, wins that round and moves on to the next.

By the end of this all, we shall have crowned the Ultimate Mario Character!

MEET THE TOADS
TOAD VS. TOADETTE

Toad started out as the infamous Mushroom Retainer who was there to remind you that "our princess was in another castle" in Super Mario Bros. In Super Mario Bros. 2 (US), he was a playable character who had a good blend of power and speed. Toad even got his own game titled Wario's Woods. As of now, Toad has been playable in the latest Mario Party games and has been playable in all of the Mario Kart games.

Toadette is Toad's female counterpart. She first appeared in Mario Kart: Double Dash as Toad's partner and later made her most significant appearance in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, where she helped Mario use his new items. As of now, Toadette has appeared in the latest Mario Party games and has appeared in Mario Kart Wii along with Toad. According to Brawl, she is "adored as a star among the Toads."

I fail to see how this determines who the best Mario Character is, if we're voting for our favorite character.

Luigi! I've always like Luigi better. Whenever I would play Super Mario Bros with someone, I would always be player 2 just to be Luigi. And I always pick Luigi in a lot of the other games. :)
I think Luigi is gonna win by a landslide. :P

Luigi's overrated. I prefer Mario's slightly faster movement rather than Luigi's much better jumping.

No, mario is more well known. There are millions upon billions of fans who think luigi should be the star of more games. Same goes for waluigi. maybe even more for him.

This is more of who YOU prefer.
You can base it on any merits you wish.

I have never seen anyone state that they wish Waluigi to be in his own game.

EDIT: I'm not gonna be updating this for a while. I'm gonna be out of town.
