What made you start foruming?

What was your first forum and why did you join it?

Also, do you ever find its a waste of time?


My first forum was Nsider.
I joined nintendo.com to register my games and for the DS's Wi-fi connection.

I sometimes find I spend a little to much time on forums when I should be doing something a bit more...

Nsider sadly.  Grew pretty disgusted with it and then branched out.

I saw the community page in NP and saw that stuff went on and I was liek "whoa I didn't know cool stuff like that was on the Internet, since I go there all the time and I only go on LEGO.com and nick.com for Flash games" so then I waited two months for my 13th birthday to pass (since I actually followed COPPA regulations >.>) and signed up and liked it and posted casually and then took off from it for a while but then went back the next summer (2005) because I felt like it and had more time and then I got hooked because I got involved with something called the Shy Guy Fan Club on the Mario board and then I got involved in Power On fun and it went off from there.

I wubbed it when I was 8, I even had a fan-fiction going in Video Games. :P

Then I joined GameFAQs, which I still go back to every now and then...

Then I joined Nsider, because Lichig0 was like "gamefaqs forums? moar liek gamefags ololol go here".

I don't find it as a waste of time, because I still do, you know, have a life and stuff. I only come here after coming from my daily visit of one of my friends, and even then, during the school year, I've never had to really do homework at home, which is actually bothering me. Maybe that'll change in High School... >_>

Finding out about Super Smash Bros. Brawl made me check out
the Nintendo forums....

Me meeting other people who had the same interest/passion in the game
made me keep posting on the forum, and eventually I got super addicted
to "posting" and being exposed to the forum community.

Cartoon Orbit was my first step on the interbutts, besides AOL, but I didn't do much with that.  Nick.com was a SMALL step, as I TRIED to post the hidden points/secret points thread of the day, but someone else got it posted first >:(

Neopets was where it started, as a cousin told me to go there in 4th grade.  I started posting on the Avatar board in 7th, made a guild for Wi-fi FC sharing, learned about registering the DS on a Gamewinners page, joined the forum, learned that you can become a Sage from Nintendo Power, unwarranted self-importance ensues, start posting again.  Forum shuts down.  Go to NSider 2, heard of this place, join here too.  M_F's place vanishes, I come here.  I enjoy.   ;)
