Thus guranteeing it will be severly edited for american audiences...
X_X
ripe for import then?
Nope, they probably won't even bother, plus they blocked the Wii Freeloader.

Of course, they could pull a Conker's Bad Fur Day and make it even more obscene for American audiences....
Nintendo would never do that...after all, they're like soccermoms "EET HAZ 2 BEE SAYF 4 DA KIDZ!"
basically meaning anything involving homosexuals/transvestites/etc. is evil and should be destroyed from the earth.
Nintendo = Jack Thompson!?!?
Dun Dun DUN!!!!!!!!  :robotsurprised: :robotsurprised: :robotsurprised:
Wouldn't surprise me. After all, they won't even put blood in Zelda when its apparent some blood would be perfectly acceptable (c'mon, Dorf gets impaled by a sword and NOTHING happens X_X;; )
They put blood in the first production run of OOT, along with Muslim chants in the Fire Temple.

Huh, apparently Nick (Captain Rainbow) is from "the land of the free".

They refer to it as Mameruka.  :D

Oh, and Europe's release list shows it as TBA:

I remember that in the 90's, these parent watchdog groups were mostly local and disorganized, and thus could not have much of an impact.

That changed when the Internet became popular. And when Fox News stopped trying to hide that they are fear-mongers who scare/"inform" people who don't know better. I learned that after I went back a few years ago and watched one of their reports from like November 2001 saying to "watch out for RC planes that could potentially be terrorist bombs".   :|

don't even get me started of Fox *I could go on for DAYS on how intercourse in retarded O'Reilly is*

I'm actually surprised Nintendo would go there. I wish they'd leave it in for U.S. just to piss all the soccermoms off.
That is why I have a PS3 as well as a Wii X_X;;

So.......people could watch Anime like Elfen Lied in the 90's without Christian parent's freaking out and saying, "OMG NEEKID WOMEN, LOLI-RAPE, MURDEROUS KILLINGS..."?

Tupin

Wow, we got off topic.

So yeah, it's kind of like a T-rated Animal Crossing with a better art style, even more cameos, humor that American audiences either wouldn't get or like, mixed with a little bit of melee combat.

But unlike Animal Crossing, it can be beaten.

I don't know, this is starting to look like another GiFTPiA to me. Too weird for American audiences.

No, they'd never let Elfen Lied slide, but they let other stuff go. Hell, Tenchi Muyo was on Toonami during daytime hours X_X;;
Not to mention Mortal Kombat wasn't THAT big of a deal....

Nah, anime was so edited in the 1990's because the companies didn't think kids would like the original version. Pretty much only two animes were in America during the 90's. Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z, both edited to the point where they might have as well made a new anime specifically for Western audiences. Pokemon, of course, came along later, just as badly edited as those two.

Oddly enough they still let the episode where Tenchi has to pose as a girl in the series X_X;;
DBZ wasn't THAT badly edited. Mostly blood and the occasional middle finger...
darn you 4kids!

Silverhawk79

I'm going to Japan, getting a Wii, and downloading that game. :D

good luck finding one Silver XD
I hear they're harder to get in Japan than they are here X_X:;

I wonder what the Male series of a Birdo would look like....  :D

IF ANYTHING this does answer the question of what Birdo's true gender is,
which I don't see a big effin deal anyway...

It's just funny how Nintnedo went out of their way to make Birdo a girl and then they mess teh whole thing up again XD

Tupin

Well, I kind of agree with them on Mortal Kombat, but not on the grounds that it's too violent (It is violent, but let me explain.)

The United States needed a video game ratings system. But even in 1993/1994, developers were very independent and basically had no rules if they could hide something well enough. By implementing a rating system, they put pressure on the consumer to make their own decisions based on their beliefs and what they want their child to see. The company could not be held responsible.

Didn't really stop the complaining, some people still think EVERY game is made for kids because they still qualify video games as toys.

In reality, they AREN'T toys anymore because not just children play them. Some parents just think that since it's a video game, it's okay for their kid to play. Parents should learn about the ESRB ratings and use them when purchasing a game for their kid.
