Straw hat usually symbolizes a summer love of some sort.  I'm more of a winter person.

However, lawnmowers are also associated with summer.  So that rules out the time of year thing.  So we're left with love vs...machine?  Ah, I see, this is a cleverly disguised version of "do you like romance anime or mecha anime?"
