Am I wrong for hating my father?

People always say that you should love your parents, but I think I have valid reasons for hating my father.

-He's racist against black people, Mexicans, Asians, Peurto Ricans, and Cubans. He always tells racist jokes and he follows the negative stereotypes of other races. He believes that every black person is a gang member and that every Mexican is an illegal immigrant. In addition, this is a quote from him: "If a doctor told me I only had six months to live, I would start killing some Mexicans and black people. He actually said the n-word but I won't repeat it.

-He doesn't know how to respect an opinion. If someone disagrees with him, he starts yelling at the top of his lungs and sometimes he even threatens whoever is disagreeing with him. He doesn't give them a chance to speak and interrupts them in the middle of a sentence. He doesn't back up his statements and doesn't give other people the opportunity to do so. He thinks he is always right and that he knows everything, when in reality he jumps to conclusions. Whenever he gets angry at me, he always assumes what I've been doing, but he's never once been correct. He's an idiot.

-He insults me on an almost daily basis and makes me feel like a worthless idiot. He knows about two of the three mental disorders I have and he calls me a nut because I have mental disorders. He takes advantage of me and knows he can get away with it because I let people walk all over me. He thinks he knows everything about me but he doesn't actually know anything about me. He doesn't take the time to understand me, he justs insults me.

-He threatens me for all the wrong reasons. I can understand why some parents have to use a paddle or rod or whatever if the child has done something wrong, but he threatened to beat me with a belt twice, both for stupid reasons: Once because I had diarrhea, and once because I was sick and he was getting annoyed by my constant coughing.

I seriously want to get him out of my life, but I don't have the nerve to do anything. Is there anything I can do? Am I wrong for hating him?

If he's really like you said, then hell no you aren't wrong for hating him. If he was my dad, i'd make sure he was out of my life for good. Call the cops and say he raped you or something, say you were afraid for your life, that ALWAYS works. He'd be so intercourse ing gone :D
