The product won't come out in North America into "Well into 2009." According to Reggie, there is so much demand for the DS Lite in North America that there's basically no reason to sell the DS I yet.
D= D=
well, at least i don't feel too bad about getting my DS lite :-\
I still want the DSi
That just means they're lazy or can't get enough systems in time for the "holiday rush" so they're not even trying for us atm.

That's it?  Really?  This is the best you could come up with Nintendo?  All this seems to be is an attempt to take the DS and add what the PSP has had for ages. 2 touch screens?  For what?  Seriously?

Oh and a camera.  Hooray.  Just what I always wanted...oh wait, I already have one.

I'll stick with the classic and Lite I have, since I hardly play them anyways.

I'm just mad that they really don't have any new games for the darn thing...

I doubt I'll get it. I'm still perfectly happy with my Electric Blue DS Phat, even though I haven't touched it in months...I need new games. :(
I have that one too... and I barely play it anymore.

They're just trying to push the Wii, Kirby Superstar Ultra was the first game they made in months.

Nintendo, DS Air please.

That's what I have. You deserve a high five. ^_^
Though, I am a little tempted to get it...camera, music, web browser...
It depends on the cost.

YEAH

Wow, I know I'm a Nintendo "Fanboy" but some of you people just seem like total idiots to me with your comments.

Let's go backwards this time.

They JUST announced the darn system, you honestly expect them to give you a full line up of games that will be coming out that may or may not use the latest features? Sheeesh, have some darn patience.

I actually think a camera is pretty impressive add on. And if you think about it, you save them to the SD card, which may allow for better use of the Photo Channel on the Wii. Think about it. If you have a Birthday parity going on or some sort of big bash, pull out your DS, snap a bunch of pictures and photos, put them on the Wii's Photo Channel, throw on an MP3 or two and you got a great slideshow to go with the party as it starts to dwindle down.

May take better quality pictures than my cell phone anyways.

Japan has always been the "test" market, don't like it, move there or get used to it.

Nintendo has lost what little respect that I had left for them after E3. All I have to say.

That.... is really just pathetic. I mean seriously. That's is actually one of the dumbest posts here. Give it some substance. Why is that? What do you not like about it? Why have you lost what little (although I think you had none to start.) respect you had? Seriously, this post is just as stupid as a random Sony fan simply posting "DS Stinks", it's got NOTHING to back it.

Triforceman22

I'll just stick with my ph@t.

They should just make a brand new handheld...
Or at least some exclusive games.

Having three diffrent DS's just seems pointless to me.....

uh...yes they have :|

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon: A reinvention of the original NES™ titles with revamped graphics and intuitive touch control, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon will finally introduce longtime fans to the stories that gave birth to the series nearly 20 years ago in Japan, while introducing the Fire Emblem franchise to a broader audience of strategy and chess fans. Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon also reveals the back story of Marth, the original lead character in the Fire Emblem series introduced and made popular in North America by the Super Smash Bros.® series of fighting games.

Mario & Luigi RPG 3: The acclaimed Mario & Luigi series returns with another hilarious action role-playing game. Join the Mario Bros. as their travels take them far and wide.

Rhythm Heaven™: If you can snap your fingers in time to music, you're ready to play this simple but infectious rhythm game. Just tap your stylus on the touch screen to the beat of the music.

-Mods/not paying all that money for a darn remake. That's why I'm not paying for Crono Trigger or KSS on DS.

That's fine, I like the series. Good for that

-Most, if not all, rythmn games are shallow and get REALLY boring after a short while. Only exceptions are the origional DDR's (because it was origional back then) and Rock Band...

DBY: There is no point in having a new system if there aren't any games for it...
Also, I know it'll take a while for it to get over here...Nintendo has never really cared about America's tastes for games so the "Lite is still selling" is just an excuse. X_X;;

I don't.  And I don't know what parties you go to, but that's incredibly lame.  If there's music playing, it's to dance to, and if the Wii is in use, it would be to play games, not look at pictures of...an hour or so earlier.

I just personally would like to see something new and innovative, not another rehash of old technology that I've already been using for the past 5-10 years.

I'm reffering to parties more like family reunions, weddings, ect. I'm wondering if the phrase "Family Gatherings" would be a better choice of terms than "party". But then again, not everyone has 2 Nintendo Wii's in their house.

EDIT: While doing some additional research on what else was announced at the press conference BESIDES the Nintendo DSi, I came across a website that has a lot of information about the press conference as well as a video montage of various games that you can expect to see on the Nintendo DS in the future. While it is all in japanese, you can still clearly see Mario & Luigi, Final Fantasy, Wario Ware, and a new game to the Pheonix Wright series. It also shows various others. The video is approxomately 3 minutes and 22 seconds.

PS: It also has a video on there about the Wii's software line-up, including a Sonic the Hedgehog game.

From what I seen in that video it don't look like they upgraded the graphical capabilities at all. I will still get this DS but if it's next gen it should be as advanced as Nintendos last console. In this case the game cube.
