Bowser, Is He REALLY A Villain?

Just so you guys know, When Bowser first appeared, he was pure evil. He would have killed Peach with out a second thought.

Now, he has a conscience.

Yeah, the pure evil turtle that spit slow balls of fire while jumping would kill the princess in the room right behind him.

oh, and for the real answer, Bowser had cast a curse on the Mushroom Kingdom that transformed most of the Toads (I can't remember what they turned into; it was either blocks or Goombas) and Peach was the only one who could break the curse, so he kidnapped her to prevent her from stopping him.

well Bowser would at least like to think he's a Villain, but like DeDeDe he is really more of a bully then anything

I think so.......I mean he always ends up helping Mario not because he actually wants to help him, but because it helps him [Bowser] in some way .

Bowser is a very versatile character it seems. I think Bowser is more of an ally than anything, at least nowadays. It's always pretty cool to get a chance to play as Bowser every now and then, but he's just by reputation the main bad guy in Mario games. So I guess he's both a good and a bad guy. :P

he USED to be a villain, but they made him wimpy. only in a few games is he a real, good villian. like Galaxy. much more evil. and he actually had a motive and story! its not like he just woke up one saturday and decided "today would  be a good day to kidnap someone." but the other games are rather degrading to him, like partners in time and paper mario.

Now that it was bumped, I would like to add that Paper Mario 64 actually gave him a motive and he was evil in it.
