This article is simply fantastic. It comes from one of their senior fellows, and is filled with gems.

"However, this generation has added a new twist. This is the first generation where the best selling system is, in terms of graphics, much less powerful that the other two."

"The Wii is a different system with a much different focus. Where the 360 and PS3 focused on graphics and processor power, the Wii's focus is accessibility and control."

"Fans of the original may like some of the changes and may not like some of the others, but we believe that we are creating a fun game for an entirely new audience made up of numerous Wii fans."

"As a side note, their one main complaint was that they were tired of hearing about "Wii-focused" controls. They have a Wii, they know what it can do, now they just want to play some great games."

"To that end, some claim that the only reason we brought Dead Rising to the Wii was to make money... You're right, we've been caught: We're guilty of being a business."

"as a gamer, you should want a brand that you love to be successful, because that increases the chance that we'll make more games. The games business is filled with titles that people love that simply did not make money: Viewtiful Joe. Okami. Zack and Wiki."

Those are golden. Capcom brings up great points. Companies, and fans, need to realize that the Wii is an entirely different experience. Catering to the needs and wants of people is hard, but who are we, as fans, to complain over some graphical differences when gameplay makes up for it? Why do we chide companies for not making enough hardcore games....when we ignore greatness, like Zack & Wiki? We really are a bunch of spoiled gamers. We wonder why we don't get hardcore games. The answer is simple. All we do is ninny and moan about it, we don't appreciate what we have. Capcom is beginning to understand this. I hope the rest of the market, and you, learn to as well.

I'm fine with the idea of porting it over to the wii, but they should've done PS3 instead.
I often praise Capcom for most of their decisions (like in my upcoming article), and I realise the Wii is entirely different from the other two consoles. Graphics aren't everything, but they can help the experience. (Let's face it, Dead Rising Wii will have less features, less zombies, and less fun stuff to do merely because it lacks the horsepower to keep up) Not saying it's going to be bad, but we all know the 360 version is going to stay better X_X;;
I just think this rep. doesn't get is that only SEGA, Capcom, and SUDA51 are the only ones trying to appease everyone. I love Viewtiful Joe and Okami. I never played Zak and Wiki. I'm fine with more kid friendly casual type gaming provided there is a balance between the two. Companies like EA, Ubisoft, and Nintendo couldn't care less about what hardcore gamers think about the wii, they're too busy trying to milk the casuals for all they're worth. This is why we haven't gotten a real Rayman game for years, yet we've gotten three average minigame packages with silly looking rabbits, kid versions of EA sports titles, and non-games like WiiFit.

Basically, we should enjoy how the games are played rather than complaining about what it should have had.

I'm fine with that then, graphics aren't important, for example, we all like to play some retro games.

That's because retro games are fun.

I see where this Capcom guy is coming from, and I agree with him that graphics aren't that important as long as it's fun.  But that's just the problem:  all the casual and shovelware stuff Wii has been getting lately ISN'T FUN, and when it lacks both fun AND graphics, it starts getting a bit annoying.

Wow, for some reason, when I read the title, my brain processed "New Mega Man game" after reading it...

Everyone is always like 'wowowow you have a wii?', but what about 360 and ps3? most people only cares about wii, and i think that is because nintendo changed the focus of the system from graphics and processers to accesibility and control, as this guy explains.

Too bad the control is usually poope unless it's a big first party title or made by Capcom...
every other 3rd party title has crap motion controls X_X;;

So it's more about accessibility at this point until the WMP comes out and someone BESIDES Nintendo (greedy hogs) makes a game for it.

I think it's Wii MotionPlus.

Tupin

Yes, Wii MotionPlus. The thing the Wii should have had from the start and the peripheral Nintendo will restrict third party use of.

Still, glad it's finally happneing.

I'm glad it's there too. Games just don't work right at times. And you're right, it should've had it from the start. the next Zelda BETTER have realistic sword fighting or I will consider it a failure regardless of how good the game is!!!! :robotangry:
Oh, and Nintendo's third party policy is horrible with regards to peripherals. LucasArts has all but quit developing for the Wii because Nintendo didn't tell them about it when they were making their lightsaber fighting game.
