So, yeah. We were talking about Smash today at school, just randomly. Somebody brought up Melee and said "May-Lee." Me and a few other people I know say "May-Lay."
So, how do you pronounce it? Which is the right way?

I pronounce it exactly like it's spelled -- Mee-lee.

I've always pronounced it May-lay, but I knew someone who pronounced it Mee-lee.

It irked me, and I think he knew it.

I say it as "May-lay". All the other ways I've heard people pronounce it, just doesn't sound right in my opinion.

 Well last year some kids in my class was having a shouting match about how it's pronounced mee-lee vs may-lay. I'm not joking, they were really shouting at each other about it. So I told them to calm the hell down, that i'll go home and record the announcer saying it but that started more yelling. I never saw my phone that day but all I kept hearing was SUPER SMASH BROTHERS MELEE!!!!!!!!!!!

i didn't know there was an alternate pronounciation.  i say may-lay accept that announcer pronounces samus's name wrong so you don't trust him.

Yeah, I remember that. He says "Sam-us." I've always pronounced it "Sah-mus."
