Melee or long range weapons?

As much as I hate dealing with ammo, when I play D&D I usually don't like to be right up close next to the enemy, especially if it's one who could probably kill me, since I never play a tank.  Like right now, I'm a druid, and I prefer casting a flaming sphere or sending my eagle familiar named ╔ (pronounced "Elbow Pipe") to deal damage instead of using my sickle.

...In most cases, Long ranged > Melee because you can take out the guy from afar and laugh as you watch the amazing ragdoll physics...har har...

I like guns. period. Something about a nice Magnum or AR15 in my hands always gets me pumped. Plus I'm not a bad shot. Usually right near the middle in a shooting range.

Eh, probably melee.  Depends on the game, if there's some powerful magicks ready to use, then I'm unleashing hellfire from a distance, though.
