Am I allowed to enter?
http://nsfcd.com/wiki/index.php/Pokemon_HeartGold_and_SoulSilver

I'll work on turning that box at the right into a template once I know how to make templates D=
(Yes, I did copy the style of the box off of Wikipedia)

Macawmoses

You're okay to enter blu.

Templates need to get the name:

Template:Whatever as a page. From there it's just html.

I know that much, but there's some extra template-only code when you insert a template with |s like {somebox|first line of info|second line|some more stuff}
And for a table like that, those things are vital to implement.

JrDude

Hey Blu, how do you do that side image thing? the thing with the Japanese names and symbol and publisher and developer and whatnot?

It's an html table.
Wikipedia typically implements them with templates, but we don't have nearly advanced enough templates for things like tables like that at our wiki.
<table class="infobox" style="float:right; width:264px; font-size:90%; text-align:left;" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="3">
<tr><th colspan="2" style="font-size:110%; text-align:center;" class="summary">Title</th></tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="2">[[File:imagename.jpg|256px|center]]<br />
Image Description</td>
</tr>
<tr style="background:#f0f0f0;">
<td>left column data</td>
<td>right column data</td>
</tr>
...
</table>

For additional rows, copy+paste those four lines before the "..." however many times you want in place of those periods. To make the table have rows of alternating color, remove the "style="background:#f0f0f0;"" part from every other row you add.
Once I get around to learning how to make complex templates, I'll make adding boxes like that easier.
You can change the colors of the rows, of course. #f0f0f0 is the light grey color you see; I only used it because Wikipedia does and I didn't feel like changing it for any reason (come to think of it, maybe I should make it silver/gold alternating for that page).

Doodle

I should try something like that.
We just got done learning about tables in my web publishing class.

Sadly, all I know how to do on wikipedia is slightly adjust things...
