I want new ranks, but I want to keep my post count. IT'S ALL I HAVE LEFT FROM OLDSIDER ;-;
whatever

Kierou

Keh. Just let it go. It's a post count. Those who care are most likely compensating for something. :P

Tsumaru

I don't really care about ranks on here as much as I did on NSider.

Custom

All the low postcount users are voting to get rid of them. :(

2/3 of the vote doesn't care or supports them being reset.

2/3 of the vote doesn't care or supports them staying the same.

You can't count the "doesn't care" votes for either side.

A bit more than 2/3, considering those two are the largest groups

A bit less than 2/3, considering that excludes the group with the highest number of votes

Having checked this poll numerous times, "Do away with" seems to have maintained a status about 2~4 votes higher than "NOOO KEEP" with indifferent being in between them.
Also, the poll doesn't allow changing votes and, judging by the posts in this thread, some people probably chose to keep thinking it would be a lot of trouble before hostile explained that it's an easy to use function.

Anyways, I vote to do away with. This is good in my opinion because:
It makes the various ranks easier to obtain for people who weren't on Nsider and other new members
It fixes our screwed up statistics
Unlike NS2, we aren't trying to extend and replicate the experience of Nsider, but rather be a mostly separate forum.

Also I disagree with Mack's idea of asking all of you so many things D=
I think many choices are better left to just the staff.

While I agree we are staff for a reason, this is a very important part of how the forum operates. Just deciding for the users - based on a closed group whose ranks don't change as they post hardly seems fair.

The Riddler

As extreme as this may sound, I say if we really want to "be a separate forum" from Nsider, we have to change the name (or at least the first half of the name) of the site.

Or, accept that we started as an Nsider Forum, and keep the post count of those who were members.

Well even if it's just for show it's probably a good idea to ask peoples opinions about this sort of thing anyway because there's always a possibility of a huge backlash if major things change/happen without any prior warning at all. (I'm pretty sure that it's happened here before) And this way you can at least soften the blow or make users think they were useful.

And I'm not implying that Mack or any other staff is doing this "just for show," though I personally wouldn't care at all if they were.

You forget, indifference always means yes in these polls.

So all the people who didn't vote... voted for Obama?

If they didn't vote, they have no right to complain about the outcome.
Unless they went out and voted for McCain, they wouldn't have had an impact on the outcome, meaning they essentially approved Obama.

I was referring to general forum polls (/ means y) but sure.
