For a fairly extreme comparison, if someone in your family told you they were gonna commit suicide, then just as they're about to do it they go "LOL JUST KIDDING", how would you feel?

These forums are on shakey grounds and we have a tight knit community. For a big group to just leave improves the chances of it's dying.

Silver texted me, "Five members just quit within 10 minutes." It upset him.

I'm not gonna read all the arguments, I don't care who was joking.

My stance on the issue, and then I'm walking away.

Kilroy and basecamp, I don't care if you guys were joking around and were trolling. What you did scared two of our staff and a few of our members into thinking we were losing active members. With the forums condition lately, that's not a scare they want or need.

And I don't go in chat enough to know if this would of been serious or not. And I don't know the 5 Leavers as well, so of course I'm gonna take this seriously- and I don't see how that's my fault in the least.

Now as I said, and what "Red" said, Guest users seeing this kind of crap....people leaving, will only make the guests not want to register.

Really, it was all just a joke. We would come back, everyone would "LOL YOU GOT US XDDDD," talk about it for a bit, and we'd move on. Mack didn't need to overreact or leave.

Now that you mention it, no one would have expected everyone to leave with or without poopty reasons.  And no, I don't think anyone would have said that unless you came back the next day.  Making it longer, although sounds funner, would have worried people more, or at least me, I am impatient.

I assumed it was a joke and played along a little, though I did think it could have been real, then after I read a certain post, I figured it out and knew it was a joke.
