But yeah the ninny was being a retard. According to the video description she was jaywalking, she was only getting arrested for resisting the ticket and probably behaving badly, and you legally can't interfere with the law when the law is making an arrest. I would take a punch over pepper spray any day, personally. She got lucky.

I do not know the entire story, but an officer cannot make an arrest because a person refuses to be ticketed or is disrespectful toward the officer; the ticket is processed anyway, and that person has to explain themselves before a court of law in the end. If the arrest wasn't legal, then punching the woman, which doesn't look good in any scenario, was probably illegal, even if she interfered. Also, at least from what the video shows, it doesn't sound like the arrest procedure was done properly, but meh. Still, the smartest thing to do would have been to stay out of it and just tell the girl to calm down... lawyers are overpaid for a reason.

Well, that cop was obviously poorly trained. He should have never put himself in a situation where he had two people pulling on him. One of them could have easily pulled his gun. It was a stupid mistake. As was his wide, arching haymaker instead of a tight technique. As for anything outside of that, such as reason for arrest or procedure, those weren't shown so I won't comment on them.

As far as the two females are concerned, they were way out of line. If you ever feel like an officer is abusing his power, you take care of it in court. Resisting arrest, assault on a police officer, and obstruction of justice could all be levied against the girl who actually got punched and severely damage any chance she has of successfully acting against that officer.

Situation full of idiots, all lucky they didn't get shot.
