No matter how bad his movies are, no matter how much they fail critically, someone keeps giving Michael Bay money.

Anyone ever see Highlander II: The Quickening? Basically the same concept. The 2007 film wasn't perfect, but it has to be better than anything involving Michael Bay.

Holy piss no.

They'd better try to pass this off as some sort of reboot/re-imagining/etc., or I'm going to be vehemently opposed to this. Regardless, I'm not really looking forward to this new... whatever it is. I'm actually fine with a TMNT movie by Michael Bay (not that I'm a fan of his), but there's just no need to do a retcon of the entire series. It's just stupid.

They'd just better present it well (that is, their purpose for rewriting the Turtles' origin), that's all I'm saying.
I dunno hao 2 put imgs heer :(

Since they would no longer be mutants, the rumor is that the movie would just be called "Ninja Turtles."

Bay, please stop ruining childhood icons.

Michael Bay has released a statement concerning the backlash from fans:

Quote from: Michael BayFans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.

That he's working with one of the creators is nice, but the fact that the turtles are aliens remains a problem, not to mention "Calm down, the script is good" is not very reassuring when coming from the mouth of the guy who made Transformers 1-3.

More like "I Like Explosions" 1-3.

Anyway, this is stupid, they are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, not just Ninja Turtles or Ninja Aliens or whatever the hell he wants to call em. Why can he not understand this? Even working with one of the creators does not justify changing something that was intercourse ing awesome back when we were kids.
Puts the lotion on the skin or it gets the hose again!

I'm not much of a Turtles aficionado, but the only way I could see this happening is if the ooze that made them into mutants was alien in some way?

Once again, Highlander II. Adding in aliens when the original story worked fine.

Bay is the scourge of filmmaking. I'd pay ten movies worth of money to get him to STOP making movies. He's THAT bad. *tosses one of his many Michael Bay voodoo dolls in a trash compactor*

Man, intercourse  that dude.  I think the old Ninja Turtles movies were actually pretty good.  Or I thought so, when I watched them all those years ago.

When will this guy quit poopting on brands?  Is he in come kind of competition with Uwel Boll?

Christopher Nolan needs to do the Ninja Turtles.  That would be sweet.

--Edit--

Oh, maybe I'm the dumb one.  It looks like in some Turtle cannon the ooze that changes them into Ninjas is actually from space, and it looks like this is the way they're going to play it in the movie; it doesn't look like they'll be aliens crash landing and hunting for pizza or anything like that.

But that initial quote is pretty misleading.

They were really misleading at first, and I was worried. But now I'm kind of okay with what they're doing, as long as the Turtles aren't actual aliens. They're still mutants to me, regardless of where the ooze is from. I'm not really happy with Michael Bay's involvement, but at least he's not directing it (although being a producer still gives him creative control |:).

his creativity is limited to explosions

you should still be slightly concerned if you are a fan

viewtifulboy

Not explosions so much as mindless destruction that's drawn out and pads the movie.
