I'm a broadcasting major, otherwise I wouldn't care myself. :3

It's not just appreciation for ol Ed. Really, it's appreciation for someone that held the media accountable - there wasn't this biased nonsense like MSNBC or Fox to the same degree: Murrow called it like he saw it. He defines free speech, and really, is a symbol the United States should respect more. I think he fits the bill as my first historical figure for those reasons and more. He's definitely the most unique of who I'm picking.
