As you may have known, the robot IS in fact beatable. All you need is:

A crapload of Waters (about 300 of them)

Some Fires and Thunders for Squall's Attack and Elemental Attack respectively

Thunders for Selphie to cast, Fire/Blizzard on Selphie's Magic

Quezacotl on Zell
Ifrit on Squall
Shiva on Selphie
Siren on anyone (but make sure to equip her)

Doubles off the devil monster you drew Siren out of.

Battle strategy:

Get to the bridge battle with Squall's HP low enough for Renzokuken.

When said battle starts, use Limit Break with Squall, summon Quezacotl with Zell, and use Double/Thunder with Selphie. Once the robot falls, wait for it to get back up/heal. Once it gets back up, hit him again with the same stuff until he falls again. Repeat about six times over and you get 50 AP and a cool item (forgot which, but it's pretty nice).

Not extremely hard since you can get Fires/Thunders/Blizzards/Waters all in Balamb.

...Do you play that game daily or what?

I haven't played the game in a year or so, but it was my first final fantasy that I beat and I know a lot about it. Shame there's no incredibly hard superbosses. (Omega Weapon is a pansy if you use Hero Wars, which give your party temporary invincibility.)

Er, I'll just say you're so into it.

Mystic

Shameless plug time. Check out my Journey To Fatherhood thread in Power Down.

Tupin

Got the disc resurfaced, and it works now!  ^_^

I'm a SeeD level 3. I did save the dog, so yeah.

Tuppy frightens me with his knowledge of legacy technology.

They're good games? Nostalgia value? Wanting to replay the story? Go through it knowing what you're doing so you can FUCK SHIT UP?

Close-minded intercourse .

One word.

Grinding.

The Riddler

Lotos

I don't.  I don't see a reason in playing them again, especially Pokemon.  If I could back up all of my Pokemon onto the computer somehow, I might do that, but I can't re-obtain event Pokemon and I don't feel like grinding and catching them all.  I don't really like RPGs besides Pokemon in the first place.  The only reason why I replayed Sonic Chronicles was to get all of the Chao.

jnfs2014

In FFVIII, grinding is altogether useless.

I can picture you playing games like Trinity Universe or Cross Edge...that is, if you have a PS3.
