I wouldn't fully agree with that statement based on what I've read. It looks like he's simply emulating the Alberta model under Klein in 1994. It's not that I agree with it, and from what I've read, it looks like a slight corporate tax hike would be manageable (a sin for the GOP). But, it has proven effective elsewhere -- and when the model is Alberta, that's a great model to have.

Again, don't condone it. As someone who aspires to be a teacher, it is concerning. But that's a nasty deficit. I'll look into the #'s a bit more.

But then you don't get EV's from battling, so not as much stat bonus when you level up.
Same applies to spamming rare candies in Red/Blue. You'll level up faster, but your Pokemon will suck.

At the moment, I'm simply referencing news stories from a few sources (like HuffPo) that have filled in my knowledge on the issue, and what I deem to be common knowledge within Alberta. If I have time, I'll get you some reading materials tonight -- I need to pour over some gov't documents, past budgets, etc. I think.

Definitely an interesting case study.
