I'm just saying that no one objects to those two shows when they're brought up, but always do with MLP.

Maybe because MLP isn't very interesting. I've watched a couple episodes. It wasn't my cup of tea. Wasn't funny. Didn't like the art. The characters were very annoying, partly due to the voice acting and party due to everything being so stereotypically girly as poop. Bronies try to say that the show isn't girly when it intercourse ing is. "Redefining masculinity" my poop hole, man. Redefining it as what? Femininity? And bronies wonder why normal people intercourse ing hate them?

Everyone needs a sense of identity and bronies are using the show to form theirs. A lot of fanbases do this, but not always to this degree. Trekkies comes to mind when I think of bronies.

When it comes right down to it, MLP is for little girls. There are males that love Sailor Moon to death, but when it comes down to it, Sailor Moon is for little girls. End of story. There are many reasons people don't object to Korra or Adventure Time when they object to MLP, outside of reasons already mentioned such as target demographic, you have things like the fanbases themselves.

The only bronies that I respect are the ones that will admit what the target demographic is for their precious show, and not be ashamed of that.

I respect that you can say it's not your cup of tea. I'm not going to try to convince you to watch the show again, but I've seen way girlier shows. Of course it's going to be "girly," but then again it is intended for little girls. The difference is that they actually tried with this show rather than just throwing flowers and rainbows at a wall and hoping it sticks. To put it into perspective, if Dexter's Lab is the antithesis to Johnny Test, MLP is the antithesis to shows like Strawberry Shortcake. That kind of takes away from some of its stereotypical qualities, just the amount of effort put into it.

Just curious, which episodes did you watch?

It's also interesting because it's like one of the first franchise relaunches in a very long time that actually relaunched successfully and turned out better than previous incarnations.

I'll admit that I'm not in the target demographic for this show, and am not ashamed to admit it. I'm not changing anything by watching this show, I'm not "redefining masculinity" or anything like that. I just want to watch a cartoon I enjoy. However, I can't help but laugh when people say they dislike MLP and also say they love Adventure Time/Korra/Regular Show. You know why? Because those shows are also for children. I know I bring it up a lot, but I see it everywhere.

If by "tried", you mean, toss in some jokes that fly over little girl's heads but their parents would get, then yeah, I guess that qualifies. The parents watching with their kids need SOMETHING, after all

Just curious, which episodes did you watch?

One of the ones had to do with a nightmare moon thing, another one that had a unicorn and a bear in it, and that's about all I can remember. I saw more though.

Then you have my respect. There really isn't any hypocrisy involved when it comes to liking those shows but disliking MLP, and I'll explain why. For starters, Adventure Time's humor is flat out ridiculous. It's pretty unique. It taps into tech and gamer culture, as well as geek(I mean, really, there are far too many Dungeons and Dragons references) culture, same as Regular Show. Men and women alike can get into that easily. Admittedly, until I saw a few episodes of Adventure Time, I thought it looked stupid as intercourse . As for Korra, its basically a high-quality animation with inspiration from japanese anime. Doesn't take a genius to see why adults can get into that. My Little Pony is...ponies. I don't really feel the need to explain further, its pretty obvious.

My Little Pony just isn't my thing. It has nothing to do with it being a children's show. Whether or not something is a kids show really has nothing to do with if I like it or not. That's how I'm capable of liking things like LoK and Adventure Time. If Adventure Time and Korra aren't your thing, then that's fine. You're allowed to like whatever you want.

"If by "tried", you mean, toss in some jokes that fly over little girl's heads but their parents would get, then yeah, I guess that qualifies. The parents watching with their kids need SOMETHING, after all."

I've seen shows that were so cheaply animated it looked like a Hanna Barbera cartoon from the 1960s, so poorly acted that the performance wouldn't fly in a high school play, and stories so simple that you wonder if they were parodies.  All within the last decade. MLP just isn't one of them, the people behind it actually took time to think out what they wanted to do and why. Just look at previous incarnations and you can see that easily. In fact, they took active steps to make sure that it didn't turn out to be like previous cartoons.

"One of the ones had to do with a nightmare moon thing, another one that had a unicorn and a bear in it, and that's about all I can remember. I saw more though."

Ah, the pilot and an early season one episode. The pilot is decent, but personally I enjoyed later episodes much more. Neither of those episodes are even close to my favorites.

"For starters, Adventure Time's humor is flat out ridiculous. It's pretty unique. It taps into tech and gamer culture, as well as geek(I mean, really, there are far too many Dungeons and Dragons references) culture, same as Regular Show."

Unique? MLP has a character that's a "flat out ridiculous, don't really question how they do things"-type character too.

How is this any different from how MLP would reference things like The Big Lebowski or Star Wars, anyway? I think that most people aren't watching this show for snarky parodies of modern culture. They're watching it for the world in which the characters live. Plus, shows with only "flat out ridiculous" humor just aren't my thing. Making funny faces and saying weird jokes without any reason does not make me laugh when that's the only thing to laugh at.

"Doesn't take a genius to see why adults can get into that. "

A cartoon for children is a cartoon for children. The animation for MLP can't really be compared to those shows, but it is definitely near the top with the technology it uses.

"It taps into tech and gamer culture, as well as geek(I mean, really, there are far too many Dungeons and Dragons references)"

This is why I really don't like Adventure Time. One or two references is funny, but when you get to the point where even a fan of the show will say there are "far too many" outside references, it just says to me that they can't create a believable world and rely too much on "Hey, guys! You get this reference, right?" rather than actually developing interesting characters and worlds.

Self-fulfilling prophecy. If you don't post for 5 years (having last posted during the height of popularity, given Brawl hadn't come out yet), don't be surprised and act like it's someone else's fault that nobody's still here.
